Lord Nelson's Victory. Chairs 'Plug' and 'Paint'In 2000 Victory Ltd. was established to sell all of the original oak and copper removed from HMS Victory during the process of her refurbishment. The company won a tender from the Ministry of Defence which gave it ownership of all such existing materials and first option on any future material. Authenticity is certified by the Ministry. On the 21 October 2005, the 200th anniversary of HMS Victory’s most famous hour, Nauticalia Ltd purchased all the remaining materials and on-going projects from Victory Ltd with the aim of taking this heritage material into it’s next phase of product development. Continuing Victory Ltd’s goal of making this unique heritage material available to as wide an audience as possible. All materials and products are supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Commanding Officer of HMS Victory. The 1805 Collection brings together the best of British craftspeople, brand leading sponsors, period experts and unique, historic material to create a limited editions collection of superior quality and excellence that will be seen as a fitting tribute to the men of the participating nations, the ships and the heroism that was Trafalgar. The limited number produced of each product, together with its material provenance and inherent craftsmanship will ensure the Collection's value while providing a documented provenance for posterity and an important contribution to charitable funds supporting HMS Victory restoration.
